Blade Runner was considered a family heirloom by the Rucki family.  Purchased in 1973 it was in the family until 2002 when it was sold to a man in Washington state.

The photo at the left is of Blade Runner at the 1976 Western Divisional in Phoenix, AZ.  The boat was later painted red, as depicted in the above picture. The Blade Runner was built in 1972 by Chris Krill of Luhrs Boatworks.  It is a Zapco mold and was the last one out of the mold.  The mold fell apart after that.  The boat purchased in '73 from Chris Krill (living in Huntington Beach, CA).

We used it as the family river boat until its 1st race in 1974.  Tried to run exhibitions with Cracker Boxes, then the race in Phoenix.  In 1984 - full racing with the west coast skiffs.  The last race the Blade Runner ran was in 1991 at Lake Ming in Bakersfield, CA.
