Skiff's owner is Norman Douthit in San Bernardino, California. It was raced up and down the west coast. It's hisotry according to Norman is - Builder - Verga, Hull Design - Forsbert, Motor Builder - Specialized Motor Service. Bought in Rumsonm NJ. 1975 - bare hull, wood deck vinyl covered. Came to CA in 1984. Sat in NJ from '79 to '84. Was Metedconk River Boat, engine trans and control from Forsberg wooden hull. In 1990 fiberglass deck added. 1992 APBA legal - JS-23 Puff for west coast racing.
Presently a lake boat and stored in an airplane hanger in Bakersfield, CA.
Norman was contacted by Douglas Whichello and talked into getting out of Grand Prix Motor Cycle Racing and raced his skiff in the sponsored Mobil West Racing Team Club. This made his wife, Darlene, really happy where she said, "Not I do not have to woryy about his racing and getting all busted up!" Norman raced int he West Coast club from '90 till the last race there July 4, 1999 in Long Beach, CA.
His Jersey Speed Skiff is one of only 3 maybe 4 now out on the west coast.
