Early arrivers, the storm, partying and the next morning!

Twenty-eight boats registered for the show. A few boats arrived on Thursday to claim their beach spots.

Some boats did manage to get out on the water to enjoy a run before the storms came.  Bill Russell from Connecticut rides his Flyin' Pony.

The storms came... we all ran for cover under Skip's "Skiff Central" tent.  Pictured at the right is:  Claire, Cliff, Betty, Mark and Bill trying to stay dry and warm.

It rained for quite some time, look closely, you can see the drops hitting the water.

Cliff Ennis, owner of Sun Dog kept the crowds entertained!

Once there was a break in the weather, we headed out.  The plan for the evening was to go back to Inn on the Green and have a little get together/cook out at the pool.

Unfortunately, the second wave of the storm blew through and we had to implement Plan B.  We went to Marty and Claire's hotel room and had dinner.  At one point during the evening, we had about 17 people in the room.  Two phone calls later (from the hotel staff), we decided to call it an evening.

Some of the folks who showed up:

Skip Gillam, Shelia Chatterton, Paul Nowak, Nat Church, Bob Chatterton,

Mark Russell, The Schmidt twins, and Bill Russell.

Early Friday morning, some folks headed down to the beach to see how much water their boats took on during the storm the previous evening.  Much to their surprise, not only did the boats take on a lot of water, the wind and chop pushed the boats up the beach.

After Mark Russell pumped out all the boats, the guys grouped together to get the Skiffs off the sandbar and back where they belonged.

Some boats where a little more stubborn than others and required brut force...  on three.
