The boats first owner Rich "Bones" Rodgers who is a good
friend, had the boat built in 1977. He had every small block from mild
283's-383 strokers. When built, Bender dumped an extra hundred pounds of
resin into it because like us, it was used as a river skiff on the Delaware
River. It has been run with direct drives, paragons, and velvet drives. It
originally was red and had JS7 on the side. It was owned by "Bones" for 4
years in which when done it was left at a local boat yard for whoever wanted
it. It sat there for years and then a man took it over and painted it white.
The boat had been almost all rebuilt when the man died. Again it sat for many
more years and was bought and painted Chevy engine red. He also ran stroker
engines but could never get it dialed in because of the torque. As of March
2003 we were the new owners of the skiff. We are very good friends with the
original owner who is like family and got us hooked.
